Secret identities for your characters
Character identities let a GM give any character a true name and a set of masks - aliases or disguises, each with its own portrait. You choose who knows the true name, and each player sees the first mask they know, everywhere the character appears: pages, maps, chat and notifications.

How do masks work?
A mask is another name for the character, with its own portrait. Masks are ranked: each player sees the first mask they know, and a player who knows none sees the name you set for strangers - or simply Unknown.
- True name visible to only you, to chosen players, or to all players
- Any number of masks, each with a name and a portrait
- A fallback name for players who know no name at all
- An At the table preview showing exactly what each player sees
Where does a hidden name stay hidden?
Everywhere. The server replaces the name and portrait for each player before anything reaches their screen, so a disguise holds on character pages, map tokens, the scene cast, chat, trades and notifications. When you reveal a name, it updates live for that player only.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reveal a secret identity to just one player?
Yes. Choose the players who know the true name or a mask; everyone else keeps seeing the name they already know.
Do player characters get identities too?
Yes. Any character can carry masks, so a player can travel in disguise while the GM controls who sees through it.
